untitled-banner_block_1

Papers are welcome on any aspect of current pedagogic research in Art, Design and Media from postgraduate research students, post-doctoral researchers and academic staff researchers. Practice based pedagogic research proposals are welcome as well as more traditional / text based work.

The process of applying for and engaging in the event is intended to be developmental. All proposals will be reviewed by the convening panel, and feedback will be given.  Those papers selected should be in the form of a 20 minute presentation, which will be followed by 10 minute discussion of the content.

The schedule will include a presentation by Professor Susan Orr on the Journal of Art, Design & Communication in Higher Education, and what editors look for when considering papers for publication. This will be followed by a question and answer session with the convening panel around the process of preparing a paper for potential publication.

Proposals should include a 300 word abstract, with a title and up to 6 keywords, plus name, title, email address and institutional affiliation.

The criteria for selection will be based on the following:
– The clarity of your research question or enquiry
– Why the methods you are using are appropriate for your
research aim?
– Methodological innovations: how an existing research method
has been developed and adapted for your research, and the
reason?
– Innovative models of pedagogic research in Art & Design
– What methods are useful for practice-based research?
